I chose to have my paper on the topic of livestreaming and its widespread growth and popularity to the masses. Over the past years we have seen the huge explosion of the internet with social media and its undenying effect it has on society itself. Careers such as online content creator and social media influencer are seemingly getting more and more popular these days and the advancement of technology allows them to push out even more content better and faster then ever before. One of the forms of new media that is massive to this day is livestreaming. Moving past static images or prerecorded videos, livestreaming allows online creators to host live video feed doing any sorts of activities with live reactions and interactions with there online audience.
In this paper I will to
discuss how the advancement of technology such as data speeds/bandwidth
increases led to the birth of this new form of media as well as
discussion of why its becoming popular with live news
and popular sites such as Facebook live, youtube live, twitch.tv and
periscope being focal points of the paper.
